TRANSFORMERS “REVENGE OF THE FALLEN”

Director Michael Bay’s new sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a good movie in my opinion. I did stay up the extra three hours to watch it, and I was a part of that Midnight Crowd arriving an hour early to ensure we had good seats. Now, I’m not the BIGGEST Transformers fan- but I enjoyed the last one and I figured the next will at least be as good. I was not disappointed- the action was great, there was an easy storyline and it ended right on time. I’d say you should go see it, and NOW before everyone else spoils your fun!

Things I Liked:

1. The Action- Michael Bay was clearly about the action, and I appreciated that. At 1AM I need something to keep me awake
2. The newish story line- Bay and his team tried to put a new spin on Transformers. As much as we hate to admit it, a play by play remaking of our fave childhood characters is NOT worth staying up at 1AM for
3. The characters- Most of them anyway. Tyrese did not upset my senses and for once the military seems to get it right, even if the President didn’t.

Things I Didn’t Like:

1. Staring at Megan Good’s ass and tits- I know you boys need a good pick me up, but Really?? We are in the middle of a war and she added nothing to the last half of the movie. Oh, except ass… and tits.
2. The Autobot Twins- Now, don’t get me wrong I thought they were kinda funny. However, for once critics have it a little right. I was wondering the whole time WHY they had to do it, the rap speak was bad enough, but then when they said they couldn’t read I was ready to be insulted. However, none of the Autobots could, not even the old guy who shows up later. It was before their time, kinda like asking me to read Ancient Egyptian. Ty Burr in The Boston Globe and AP writer Sandy Cohen have their own takes on the situation, my only opinion is that we could have lived happily giving the twins a little more respect and a little less “hood”.
